The year 2024 with a bar chart and logos of Skrill, MiFinity and AstroPay

2024 brought no big upheavals among our providers, but there were documented steps: Skrill sponsored a Chelsea FC tour, MiFinity connected two gateways and AstroPay announced a multicurrency wallet. Here are the points we can back with a date and a source.

Timeline: 7 June 2024 MiFinity with FinteqHub, 4 July MiFinity with Slotegrator, 18 July Skrill at Chelsea FC, 18 December AstroPay multicurrency wallet, 4 March 2025 Paysafe full-year 2024 results

What changed at Skrill?

On 18 July 2024 Paysafe announced that Skrill is an official partner for Chelsea FC’s US pre-season tour. Skrill presented the opening match against Wrexham AFC on 24 July at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. Fans could pay with Skrill and paysafecard in the club’s online store until the end of 2024. How did Paysafe’s wallet business do?

Skrill belongs to Paysafe. The full-year results of 4 March 2025 show Digital Wallets segment revenue of $765.5 million in 2024, up 4% on the year before. Adjusted EBITDA rose 6% to $339.0 million. The group as a whole reported $1.70 billion in revenue (+6%). Source: Paysafe release.

What did MiFinity add?

MiFinity announced two connections for operators. According to The Paypers on 7 June 2024, merchants on SOFTSWISS’s FinteqHub gateway can offer the wallet; a first merchant was live and more were being onboarded. Slotegrator followed on 4 July 2024, reported by The Paypers on 5 July, with merchant onboarding still in progress. MiFinity cites over 225 countries, 21 languages and 17 currencies. For you as a player, it simply means more casinos may offer MiFinity as a payment method. The reports don’t say which ones. More on the provider: MiFinity is now an eWO partner.

What happened at AstroPay?

In December 2024 AstroPay presented a multicurrency wallet. It’s based on an e-money (EMI) licence from Denmark. The launch markets were Denmark, Spain and Portugal, with Germany, France, Italy and Poland planned by the end of 2025. Source: FinancialIT, 18 December 2024. We have not checked whether the plan was met.

What is missing from this review?

For Neteller, Payz and Luxon Pay, we found nothing from 2024 that we could back up with a primary source or the trade press, so they’re not included. We’d rather list fewer points than unverified ones.
