p2p Fee Changes – Skrill and NETELLER

p2p Fee ChangesYet another fee change? Yes, you got it. Starting from today Skrill and NETELLER are changing the structure for their p2p fees (money transfer between accounts) again. Please keep in mind, the changes from last month are also still active. Please check our last Skrill news and the NETELLER news about the changes that were already introduced. Depending on which country your account is registered to, the date of the registration, and if you already made a deposit to your account the p2p fee changes can vary even more.

With this post, we will give you a detailed and easy overview of the changes, who will be affected, and what you can do to avoid the increased fees.

Let’s have a look at the details.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the increased fees are for the first transactions only. Once you made your first money transfer the fees will be lowered to the standard fees of 1.45% (min. 0.50 EUR/USD) again.

p2p Fee Changes – Which NETELLER accounts will be affected?

The new fees are different depending on your country of residence, the account creation date, if you already made a deposit and if you reached a VIP status already.

Let’s start with the good news – for accounts created before the 23rd of July 2019, there will be no changes as well as for accounts with silver VIP status* or higher!

If your account was created earlier you will still have the standard fee of 1.45% (min 0.5 USD) for your first transfer. Only accounts from a few certain countries created on or after 23rd July without a silver VIP or higher will have an increased fee. The following tables show you which countries are affected and what the exact fees would be then:

  • Countries
  • Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh,
Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Costa Rica,
India, Korea (South), Montenegro, Nigeria, Pakistan,
    Panama, Tunisia
  • Fee BEFORE first deposit
  • 5.25% (min. 10 USD)
  • Countries
  • Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh,
Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Costa Rica,
India, Korea (South), Montenegro, Nigeria, Pakistan,
    Panama, Tunisia
  • Fee AFTER first deposit
  • 1.45% (min. 0.50 USD)

Again, please keep in mind, this fee counts only for the first money transfer and only for accounts created on/after the 23rd July 2019 without making any deposit first (excluded upload options are NETELLER, paysafecard, BitPay). As soon as you make a deposit you will have the standard fee of 1.45% (min. 0.50 USD) for your first money transfer.

Example – account created after 23rd July 2019:

A Bangladeshi customer who makes his first transaction without depositing first sends 500 EUR from his NETELLER account (non-VIP) to another NETELLER account and will have to pay 26,75 USD in fees.

BUT: if this client makes a deposit to his NETELLER account first, then the fee will be reduced to 1.45% automatically and he only needs to pay a 7.25 EUR fee.

* Bangladesh is excluded from this and will not have free money transfer with Silver VIP status.

p2p Fee Changes – Which Skrill accounts will be affected?

Now let’s have a look at the changes for Skrill. Do you think NETELLER is already complicated? Well, with Skrill it’s getting even more interesting now.

Good news first – no changes for accounts created before the 4th April 2019 and for accounts with silver VIP* or higher. Those accounts will still have the lowest fee of 1.45% (min 0.50 EUR) for their first transfer.

Now we have to distinguish when exactly your account was created to show the fee changes.

Accounts created between 4 April 2019 and 22 July 2019 (included)

  • Countries
  • Bangladesh, Korea, India, Tunisia,
Nigeria, Costa Rica, Bolivia, El Salvador
  • Fee BEFORE first deposit
  • 5.50% (min. 20 EUR)
  • Countries
  • Bangladesh, Korea, India, Tunisia,
Nigeria, Costa Rica, Bolivia, El Salvador
  • Fee AFTER first deposit
  • 1.45% (min. 0.50 EUR)

Accounts created on or after 23 July 2019

  • Countries
  • Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh,
Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Costa Rica,
India, Korea (South), Montenegro, Nigeria, Pakistan,
    Panama, Tunisia
  • Fee BEFORE first deposit
  • 5.25% (min. 10 EUR)
  • Countries
  • Bangladesh, Bolivia, Costa Rica
El Salvador, India, Nigeria, South Korea, Tunesia
  • Fee AFTER first deposit
  • 1.45% (min. 0.50 EUR)

Please keep in mind, like for NETELLER, this fee counts only for the first money transfer and only for accounts created after the 3rd April 2019 without making any deposit first (excluded deposit payment methods are NETELLER, Paysafecard or BitPay). As soon as you make a deposit you will have the standard fee of 1.45% (min. 0.50 EUR) for your first money transfer.

Example – account created between 4th April and 21st July 2019:

A Bangladeshi customer who makes his first transaction without depositing first sends 500 EUR from his Skrill account (non-VIP) to another Skrill account and will have to pay 27,50 Euro in fees.

BUT: if this client makes a deposit to his Skrill account first, then the fee will be reduced to 1.45% automatically and he only needs to pay a 7.25 EUR fee.

* Bangladesh is excluded from this and will not have free money transfer with Silver VIP status.
